To Their Cries
They received no Replies.
Their eyes, so vague
Had dried up.
There were no more Tears,
There were no more Fears.
And then - when all was still,
New sounds, far away, began to fill
The air of a newborn Homeland,
Where the wounds would begin to Mend.
And to those eyes and those cries
There were now some replies -
"You have not died in Vain
And, NO, Dear Ones,
Never, Never Again".
