Would I have fared any better had I been asked not where, but "who was Sokolov?" or for that matter - Borochov, Bograshov, Brenner, Gordon, Katzenelson or Yigal Allon? Go to your local tourist office, take maps of the city / town and
have your students scan for names of famous people after whom roads have been named. Tell
them to choose one (preferably someone they are not familiar with) and to prepare an oral
presentation on that person. In groups studentsreport to their friends about whom they
chose. Avi Tsur |
