Launch an EFL revolution - your very own ENGLISH DAY. Collect the data and figures needed to make your day a reality. Have as many activities as possible in mind.Who will man the station? How long will each activity last? Showing a movie? ... etc. Share the news with anyone who will listen. Make the message comprehensible. Involve everyone in everything. Make a piece of the program someone else's idea. Pick priorities. Start with those which are manageable and which have "high-success" potential. Success sells itself. Copycat programs with a track record. Some schools have had ENGLISH DAYS in the past. Find out what they did? How they did it? ... and add your own flavor! Make sure you understand the decision-making structure of the organization. For programs to work, there is the system that needs to be dealt with. (School principal, pedagogical advisor, etc.) You need these people on your side, by your side. Approach them ONLY when you know all the details for your DAY - When, where, costs, etc. Everything is negotiable. The one that usually wins is the one that does the best job giving up the most without losing anything. |
