   Project Israel

Select a title for your English Day and present Israel in a colorful, festive project.

The basic idea is to project the image of Israel through different activities. The character of this project requires a large number of participants and the involvement of outside helpers. A lot of initiative , energy, careful planning and preparation are needed. The project can involve all ages in many areasof activities. The result should be a warm and colorful Israeli atmosphere.

LOCATION

The location of your project is an important factor (indoor, outdoor, or a combination). The date of the event should take weather into consideration. Suitable facilities will also have an impact on the choice of location. Appearance of the location is a dominant tool in creating the desired Israeli atmosphere and spirit.

SETTING UP

For decorations use: Israeli flags, posters, drawings, maps, white and blue streamers, slogans, sayings, signs, etc. Exhibits enrich the program, add to the decorations and their educational and informational values are considerable. There are usually many local members of the community who have interesting collections which deal with Israel and they can be invited to participate in the program. Also, special exhibits can be brought from outside and some prepared specially for the event. The following are a few suggestions: Israeli stamps, coins, art, art and crafts, Hebrew books translated into English. An exhibit of Israeli products can be set up and displayed by local firms or other interested companies (Elite, Osem, Cosmetic groups).

Approach native English speakers to help run the different activities. Call on parents, pensioners and other interested volunteers. The budget of your project should be addressed in a professional manner. Remember: The budget will affect the size and content of the project.
